Dominica – Putting nature first

Nicknamed the ‘Nature Island’, Dominica is known for its unspoilt beauty and immersive nature experiences. To stay true to this reputation, the island’s properties have adopted a low-impact approach to hospitality.

In particular Jungle Bay and Rosalie Forest Eco Lodge both provide a getaway that respects nature and affects it as little as possible. Initiatives include composting kitchen waste, using renewable energy such as wind and solar, banning most single-use plastics, offering residents a reusable water bottle, and using no chemicals on their land. Rosalie also receives its water from a bordering river using a solar-powered pump, which is silent to not disturb the ecosystem around it.
