The Travel Corporation — Our journey to eliminating single-use plastic
The Travel Corporation (TTC) and its non-profit The Treadright Foundation celebrated Earth Month this year by initiating the removal of single-use plastic water bottles across its brands’ coaches. The policy has an impact on Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Contiki and Inspiring Journeys and came into effect at the start of the operating season 2019.
The move is a step forward for TTC’s campaign to remove all unnecessary single-use plastics from its brands. Other initiatives include removing non-biodegradable name tags for guests on trips and Contiki is trialling an innovative, long-lasting water bottle with a 300-use filter that makes drinking water safe all over the world. Single-use plastic water bottles, in addition to more than 20 everyday plastic convenience items, have been banned across all Red Carnation properties and Uniworld ships for some time now.
