Reducing plastic on coach travel

The Travel Corporation - reducing plastic on coach travel

In 2018, The Travel Corporation (TTC) announced the removal of all unnecessary single use plastics across all offices. A challenge that was met with impressive success globally.

At the start of 2019, TTC removed single-use plastic bottles on coaches operated by AAT Kings, Brendan Vacations, Contiki, CostSaver, Insight Vacations, Inspiring Journeys, Luxury Gold and Trafalgar. Other TTC brands, including Uniworld, Red Carnation Hotels, and U River Cruises have already removed plastic across operations.

Red Carnation Hotels has banned single-use plastic water bottles and 20 other everyday plastic items across its 17 luxury hotels. Contiki is trialling a reusable water bottle with a 300-use charcoal filter to provide clients with clean drinking water at all times. Several TTC brands are moving away from plastic luggage tags and replacing them with reusable tags, too.
